Mälardalen University
Mälardalen University is one of Sweden’s largest institutes of higher education. The University has over 15,000 students studying one of our approximately 60 programs with a priority international orientation of many educational programmes. Mälardalen University (School of Education, Culture, and Communication) will serve as a coordinator and grant holder institution of the proposed JEP Project. It has been already involved in this role within the Tempus projects NP-22012-2001 and IB_JEP-25054-2004 and has strong research and educational programmes in the area of applied mathematics, mathematical didactics, and pedagogical sciences, experience in organisation of international schools, science competitions, training of teachers, as well as educational measurements and Internet based support of educational process and methods of quality assurance. Mälardalen University will serve as a contractor and coordinator of the proposed JEP and will provide the required self-financing of the project as well as transfer to the participants from partner countries its experiences in organisation of advanced international educational programmes, didactics and popularisation of mathematical sciences. Professor Dmitrii Silvestrov (School of Education, Culture, and Communication), who is supposed to be a coordinator of the proposed JEP, has a great experience in coordination of Tempus projects, in particular, JEP-10353-97 "Statistical Aspects of Economics", NP-22012-2001 "Improvement of Education in Statistical Applications in Economics", and IB_JEP-25054-2004 " Training Centre for Actuaries and Financial Analysts”.
