The performers of project "Educational Measurement, adapted to EU standards", at the invitation of USETI, participated in the Roundtable “The Path to Improving the Admission System to Establishments of Higher Education”, wich held in Kiev on April 20, 2010.
The methodology of researching the effectiveness of admissions to establishments of higher education (HEIs) was presented along with the results of the research done on the effectiveness of external independent testing (EIT) based 2008-2009 admission campaign.
They researched the ability of EIT to predict how freshmen would do in their first year, the fairness of the admission system, and how society evaluated the system.
Participants of the round table included Director of the Regional USAID Mission, Janina Jaruzelski; Director of the Department of Higher Education in the Ministry of Education and Sciences, Yaroslav Bolyubash; Acting Director of the International Renaissance Foundation, Yevhen Bystrytsky; Director of the USETI Project, Yarema Bachynsky; Rectors from HEIs, and Scientists from the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine.
